When I woke up this morning, Cameron was standing on the ladder, staring at me, obviously waiting for me to wake up. When I finally can get a grip of my surroundings, I push him off the ladder with a shove to the face. He hits the ground with a thud, waking up both Aleya and Milo.

Aleya and I arrived at Camp P.O.S.SUM 20 minutes before Maye and Cameron arrived, and I- unlike Aleya- went ahead and unpacked all my stuff. Once I was finished I saw Aleya and another girl- long blonde hair, and blue eyes who I assumed was Maye- walking towards me, clearly oblivious to the kid standing in the doorway.

“Cameron, will you please put the book down and talk to ME?!?” Maye, my sister, asks, “You’ve been reading for the entire trip!” “I’ve been reading for two hours, not the entire trip,” I reply. The trip to Camp P.O.S.SUM took four hours. I’d only been reading for two, and we’d been in the car for two and a half.

I kind of wish Aleya would understand the concept that we are in completely different time zones, because I really wish she would stop texting me in the middle of the night. I have enough trouble falling asleep as it is, and so when she wakes me up, I’ll be up for another hour, minimum. Maybe I could go annoy Cameron, my brother. But then he would snitch to Momma.

It was 8:00 AM when I heard my mum scream. “ALEYA get down here NOW!” I assumed I was in trouble, so I walked as slowly as possible. I trekked downstairs awaiting my punishment, but as soon as I saw her, I could tell I was wrong.
